One-tété Lohkay

She was born, not free

She felt totally free though

She fought for freedom and dignity

For herself and for all people that surrounded her

For those who worked without salary

For those who were not free to go wherever they wanted

She fought for

Universal human dignity

Universal human right

She fled into nature

She was brought back

She was whipped, one of her breasts was cut off

They thought they made her small, silenced and frightened

But

She felt totally free though

She fled into nature once again

And felt free up in the hills

I feel gratefull for her courage

To the depths of my soul

With her bravery

She planted a seed

A seed that grew and grew

That grew so we today

Are born free
