Ma Yenko

A Caribbean life-story

Ma Yenko tells the story of several women. They live in a society where slavery has just been forbidden. But colonialism is still a fact. These women are mangeled in time but they don’t feel sorry for themselves. They help each other, they make their own decisions whenever possible. They reflect and look for opportunities in the right moment.

Each one of them finds their own strength and value

Life is good as it is. There is joy, there is music. They sing and dance and eat. Life can be hard as well. And sad and oppressive.

Ma Yenko once and again: let us walk to where life can be better.

Making contact with the spirits, they look for solutions and find them in all kinds of ways.
