About Vivian

When I write, I feel my heart pounding in my chest. I get that same feeling when I wander in nature. If so, it is as if sentences flow from my keyboard.

Accept from writing I love reading, all kinds of sports and I enjoy a good conversation with room for all kinds of perspectives.

With Ma Yenko I woke up full of ideas and at the end of the day, all kind of ideas were their again.

It was really difficult not to think about this story. When it came to an end I felt a little bit sad, as if I lost someone dear. Now I know better. Ma Yenko will be read by so many people. I hope so, I feel so and I know so. Not because of my ego, but because of the relevance of this story. It tells us about a history in our near past, with effects that still influence us nowadays.

Apart from being a writer, I’m a CEO in an organisation of special needs education. In that job I have to write about budgets and about us reaching our goals to facilitate each and every child to go to school.

The joy of writing in a comprehensible way, is the same though

In this job I often think: let’s walk, let’s go! There always will be a way or a solution for a child to learn. This is exactly the translation of Ma Yenko: let’s walk!

Spoiler allert:

Going to school or not is a big issue in Ma Yenko.
